In case of Tony Randall. He's about to start work in a movie called "Seven Faces of Dr. Lao," which he portrays seven different characters and wears different wigs. He and head makeup man, decided it would be easier if Randall's head was shaved, so the clippers with this result. A mighty close haircut was given to Tony Randall by William Tuttle, Hollywood make-up expert. This treatment is generally given an actor in a bald role but Randall will portray seven characters in the movie "Seven Faces of Dr. Lao," and will wear wigs hence the smooth foundation.
