Portraying the legendary Russian ballet star Vaslav Nijinsky in Paramount Pictures' new movie "Nijinsky," New York-born George de la Pena, 22, dances the role of the Golden Slave in the ballet "Scheherazade" (left) and the principal role in the ballet "Le Spectre de la Rose" (right). At 22, the young dancer from the American Ballet Theater, is the age of Nijinsky during the time segment explored in the film, 1912-1913. De la Pena is of mixed Russian-Argentinian parentage. His mother was born in Kiev, which also was Nijinsky's birthplace. Photo measures 10 x 8.25 inches. Photo is dated 3-4-1980.
