A lonely boy named James finds some unusual new friends and unexpected adventures when he climbs inside an enormous peach and sets sail for New York City in Walt Disney Pictures "James and the Giant Peach" a magical musical fantasy-adventure which includes awesome stop-motion animation, stylish live-action and the latest in computer imagery and digital effects. Left: James surveys the ocean with Centipede (right) and Grasshopper. Upper right: A maternal Ladybug shows James that he has been magically transformed upon entering the peach. Bottom right: Grasshopper lends James his monocle to inspect a strange whirlpool in the ocean caused by an aggressive shark. Based on Roald Dahl's classic 1961 children's book, the film was directed by Henry Selick and features five wonderful new songs and an underscore by Randy Newman. "James and the Giant Peach" is produced by Denise Di Novi and Tim Burton. Brian Rosen and Henry Selick served as co-producers. Jake Eberts was the executive producer.
