The fantastic looking individual at right is actually former farm boy Max Palmer, and eight foot, six inch lad from Clarksdale, Mississippi, who was chosen to play the title role in "Killer Ape," after a nationwide search for a suitable performer. This is an original press photo. Chimpanzees. Jungle Jim's simian sidekick could completely cover its nose with its upper lip (as illustrated above)-something chimps don't do often in Africa. Can you do it? Jiggs, Mayor of New York World's Fair Jungleland, who claims he can make the "Darndest" Faces whips one up with the slightest sign of encouragement.
