1985 Press Photo Singer Nina Hagen brings "Ballroom Blitz" to Los Angeles
Columbia recording artist Nina Hagen (center) brought her "Ballroom Blitz" to the Beverly Theater in Los Angeles, December 26-27. The theme of the two sold-out nights was "A Salute to Glitter." Ms. Hagen's shows were hosted by M.C. Tequila Mockingbird and co-M.C. Rodney Bingenheimer (right), and included opening acts Redd Kross, Pandoras, and the Glitter Symphony. Featured in the artist's repertoire were a number of tunes from her upcoming album, Balhaus Blitz Extasy No. 5 (including Norman Greenbaum's "Spirit in the Sky"!) set for February release. Among the celebrities attending apres-show festivities were Devo's Mark Motherbaugh (left), local horror movie tv hostess Elvira (Cassandra Peterson), Belinda Carlisle of the Go-Gos, and L.A. songstress-personality Angelyne, who joined Nina onstage for an encore of "Angel Face."
