1956 Press Photo Art Carney in "Art Carney Meets the Sorcerer's Apprentice"

This is an original press photo. Art Carney will appear as Cicero, a kindly, second-rate carnival magician determined to conjure up a genie in "Art Carney Meets the Sorcerer's Apprentice" on Channel 5 at 5 o'clock this afternoon. This hour-long fantasy reunite Carney and the Baird Marionettes, with which he appeared last November in "Art Carney Meets Peter and the Wolf." Carney will be the only human seen on the show, an adaptation of Paul Dukas' musical fable of magic gone wild. Paul Weston will be musical conductor and adapter. This is an original press photo. In a new version of the legendary "The Sorcerer's Apprentice," Art Carney comes to the television screen as the sorcerer a half baked one at that, here Art is seen rehearsing with the Baird Puppets in a scene from the show which will be telecast April 5 by ABC TV He is the only human actor in the hour long work. The rabbit (left) works for him though under-paid. The devil rest on Carney's shoulder, waiting for any new development.
