Press Photo actress Faith Domergue discovered by Howard Hughes, in screen debut
Faith Domergue makes her screen debut in "Where Danger Lives," in which she shares stellar honors with Robert Mitchum and Claude Rains. Presented by Irving Cummings, Jr. and Irwin Allen, the gripping romantic melodrama was directed by John Farrow, written for the screen by Charles Bennett and is distributed by RKO Radio. Born in New Orleans, La. on June 16, 1925, Faith Domergue is one of the most interesting new personalities to reach the screen in recent years. It was in New Orleans that she saw her first play and decided on the spot to become an actress. Moving to California with her family, she completed her schooling at the Beverly Hills Catholic School and at St. Monica's Convent. Then began the long process of interviews, auditions and waiting for the aspiring actress. Her big break was a chance meeting with Howard Hughes, discoverer of Jean Harlow and Jane Russell. He immediately placed her under a long-term contract and had her concentrate on diction and dramatic lessons. Her first film role was in the as yet unreleased "Vendetta," but her starring part in "Where Danger Lives" is the first time she will be seen on the screen. Faith is married to the well-known Argentine director, Hugo Fregonese, and they have a daughter Diana, born last year. Five feet, five inches tall and weighing 116 pounds, the lovely Faith has black hair and brown eyes.
