1982 Press Photo AAdventure of H.G, Wells Journey to the Center of the Earth
While not quite as magnificent or spine tingling as "Journey to the Center of
the Earth," speleology - the scientific study of caves - certainly approaches
the adventure of H.G. Wells subterranean thriller. Some of those adventures were
discussed at the National Speleological Society's week-long, 39th annual
convention held in Bend recently. Not only was it the first time the society had
convened in Oregon, it was only the sixth Western convention ever and the second
gathering held in a volcanic area.Photo measures 10 x 8inches. Photo is dated
07-08-1982.
